Another new scene for Team Suzuki Alstare

The seventh round of this year’s Superbike World Championship takes place at the Nürburgring in Germany and will be another new track for Team Suzuki Alstare riders Fonsi Nieto and Yukio Kagayama, Team Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner and most of the regular competitors.

The last time World Superbikes visited the Nürburgring was in 1999, with current WSBK rider Troy Corser winning one race and finishing third in the other. Corser, Noriyuki Haga and Gregorio Lavilla all took part in that race and are the only survivors who will be present this weekend. Team Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner has raced at the Nürburgring before, but it was on the short circuit, not the one to be used in the WSBK race this coming weekend, so he and his Suzuki Alstare team mates will be new to the track - just like they were in Salt Lake City in the last round.

Fonsi
I have not ridden a superbike at the Nürburgring before so, just like the last round, I will have to start the weekend by learning the track. I Hope that I have a better experience then I had in Salt Lake City and can be in a good position for Superpole and the race. Qualifying low down the grid gives you a lot of work to do in the races and these races are hard enough without the extra pressure of a low grid place. My aim is to do better in practice and qualifying and be in a good position come raceday.

Yukio
A new track for me and the Suzuki Alstare bike and I want to do well there. I am not happy if I am not on the podium and I want to be in a position to fight for victory. There are many strong riders in this series and if you do not qualify well it is hard to get a podium. So my aim, as always, is to qualify well and attack the podiums on raceday.

Max
This is a home race for me and there will be many fans and a lot attention on me to do well. For me, it would be a dream to win a race at the Nürburgring, but I think that this could be possible. There will be some extra pressure on me for sure, but once I am on the grid, I am focussed on one thing only - the race! The last time I raced at the Nürburgring was on a different (shorter) track, so I am going to have to start to learn the track - just like everybody else.
