The seventh round of this year’s Superstock 1000 FIM Cup will be one to forget for Xavi and Team Alstare Suzuki.

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Xavi Simeon set the fourth quickest lap of final qualifying today and will start on the front row of the grid in tomorrow’s 14-lap race. In the afternoon qualifying Xavi took a tumble and banged his right ankle.

He and the team were unable to find a good set-up in today’s two sessions, but are confident that things will be different tomorrow. Frenchman Maxime Berger (Honda) took provisional pole today, with a time of 1:29.315, with Claudio Corti (Yamaha) second, Michele Pirro (Yamaha) third and Brendan Roberts (Ducati) fourth.
