Michel eager to improve at Silverstone

Team Alstare Suzuki Michel Fabrizio failed to make the podium in last year's race at Silverstone so will be going all out to make amends this year. He finished fourth in the first race and DNF’d in the second and is determined that this year will be better. The Northamptonshire circuit has seen a pit and media centre makeover since last year and the state of the arts pits will be a new experience for al the WSBK teams.

Michel happy with a pair of superb fourths

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio took fourth place in both WSBK races in Brno today, but had to defy the pain barrier to do so in both 20-lappers. Michel was suffering from a cyst in between two of his toes in his right foot and was in agony every time he pushed down on his right footpeg. He had a pain-killing injection in between the two races, but was still in some discomfort and could not be as aggressive as he wanted to in the right turns.

Michel’s best superpole of the seaon

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio qualified sixth fastest in Superpole 3 - his best result this year - and will start tomorrow’s pair of 20-lap races from the second row of the grid. All season, Michel has struggled in Superpole, but today he was fifth quickest in regular qualifying, and his sixth in final Superpole was enough for a place on row two of the grid.

Michel aiming for a podium

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio will be going all out for a podium in Brno this coming weekend. The Italian likes the spectacular 5.403 kilometre track and has enjoyed many successes there on his previous visits, taking seven podiums in ten races.

Superb fourth in race two for Michel

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio crashed in the first race in Aragon today, Michel started both races from the fourth row of the grid, but once again showed his ability to fight his way through the pack and challenge for the podium.

Third row for Michel

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio managed to get into Superpole 2, in Aragon today, but he was unable to get into Superpole 1 and so will start tomorrow’s 20-lap races from the third row of the grid. Although his right arm and wrist were better today, they are nowhere near 100% and Michel knows that tomorrow is going to be very tough.Marco Melandri (Yamaha) won Superpole today, with a lap of 1:57.634, with fellow Italian Max Biaggi (Aprilia) second. Third quickest was Leon Camier (Aprilia), with series leader Carlos Checa (Ducati) fourth.

Michel finishes seventh on day one

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio spent the first day of practice and qualifying in Aragon looking for a good set-up for his bike, whilst trying to ignore the pain in his right arm and wrist. Although, no fractures were revealed after his crash last Sunday, Michel is struggling opening the throttle and that is affecting his lap times. He will have massages and ice treatments today and tomorrow and hopefully he will be able to use his wrist better and control the throttle as normal.

Battered, bruised, but determined

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio goes to Motorland Aragon this weekend battered and bruised but fortunately without any broken bones after last week’s highside in Misano. At the time, he was diagnosed with a suspected fracture to his right scaphoid, but yesterday’s visit to his specialist revealed no broken bones. Although this is good news, it remains to be seen how strong his arm will be this coming weekend.
Motorland Aragon is a new addition to the calendar and is a demanding 5.345 kilometre, anticlockwise track featuring some interesting changes of elevation. Although it is new to the championship, many of the teams tested there at the end of last season.

Michel takes sixth despite injury

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio bounced back from a heavy fall in the first race to take a fighting sixth in the the second despite riding with a suspected broken scaphoid. Michel had pushed a little too hard on the opening lap of today’s first race and was highsided exiting turn three and landed heavily on his right arm. He went to the Medical Centre and was diagnosed with a suspected fracture in his right arm.

Rain puts a damper on Michel's hope

Rain just before Superpole at Misano this afternoon put a damper on Michel’s’ hopes of a front row grid position and instead he will face a mountain to climb from the fourth row of the grid. Michel had been third fastest in the dry and looking forward to a good grid position. But the heavens opened just after the afternoon’s untimed session and Michel had to quickly try and find a good wet set-up on a bike he’s only had limited time on in the wet.

Superb fourth for Michel on day one

Team Alstare Suzuki rider Michel Fabrizio recorded the fourth fastest time in qualifying on the opening day of practice and qualifying at Misano today. Michel, now fully fit, posted a lap of 1:36.546 and is now looking forward to consolidating a front row grid position in tomorrow’s qualifying and Superpoles.
