I am not so happy with the final result, regarding lap times, but overall I am happy with all the work we’ve done and the things we found out and this will help us go in the right direction.
Today we started with the two bikes set up differently and I preferred some things on one bike and some things on the other bike, so the mechanics will now try and put the best bits of both on one bike and that’s what I will start with during first practice next Friday. We spent quite a lot of time today trying out race tyres, so that we will be in a good position next week, but that meant that we didn’t really go for a very quick lap time.
I am not worried about the guys ahead of me today, because I know that things will be very different come the race next weekend. That’s more important than lap times today. I feel good about our prospects - and that’s the main thing.

Today we did a lot of work on getting the bike working well with race rubber and didn’t concentrate of chasing lap times. I had a small get-off at the tight hairpin after Lukey Heights, but there was no damage to me or the bike. It happened when I lost the front end when I pushed a bit too hard on a tyre that I didn’t really like - and now I like it less!
I have had no problems with jet-lag or tiredness today, but I felt that I just couldn’t find my good rhythm. This sometimes happens to me when we test for a lot of time, like today when the two sessions lasted two and a half hours each. In a normal race weekend, practice lasts an hour and race is about forty-five minutes and I always manage to find a good rhythm without a problem, so maybe the sessions today were a bit too long for me. But, we’ve done a lot of good work and now I am looking forward to next Friday and the start of the race weekend.

LEON e SYLVAIN TERMINANO I TEST 7° e 15°

I piloti del Team Suzuki Alstare Leon Haslam e Sylvain Guintoli hanno continuato a lavorare sulla ricerca del miglior set-up per la loro GSX-R 1000 K10 Suzuki invece di rincorrere i tempi sul giro e hanno concluso le due giornate di test rispettivamente 7° e 15°. Oggi a causa del forte vento la maggior parte dei piloti ha preso le cose con cautela, specialmente nel pomeriggio. La Ducati occupa i primi quattro, con Michel Fabrizio il più veloce, con un tempo di 1:31.650. Il secondo è Shane Byrne, con Jakub Smrz terzo e Carlos Checa, quarto.

Non sono così felice del risultato finale, per quanto riguarda i tempi sul giro, ma nel complesso sono contento di tutto il lavoro che abbiamo svolto e di tutte le cose che abbiamo trovato e questo ci aiuterà ad andare nella giusta direzione.
Oggi abbiamo iniziato con le moto con due set up diversi e preferivo alcune cose di una moto e alcune cose dell'altra, quindi i meccanici ora cercheranno di mettere i pezzi migliori di entrambe su una moto ed è così che vorrei iniziare la prima sessione di prove Venerdì prossimo. Abbiamo perso un sacco di tempo a provare le gomme da gara, non cercando un tempo veloce ,ma mettendomi in una buona posizione per la settimana prossima.
Non sono preoccupato per i ragazzi davanti a me, perché so che le cose saranno molto diverse nella gara del prossimo weekend. Questo è più importante dei tempi sul giro di oggi. Mi sento bene sulle nostre prospettive - e questa è la cosa principale

Oggi abbiamo fatto un sacco di lavoro per ottenere che la moto funzioni bene con gomme da gara e non ho inseguito i tempi sul giro. Ho avuto un piccolo dritto al tornantino dopo lil Lukey Heights, ma non ci sono stati danni ne a me ne alla moto. Ho perso l'anteriore mentre spingevo un po' troppo con una gomma che non mi piaceva molto - e adesso mi piace di meno!
Oggi non ho avuto problemi con il fuso orario e la stanchezza , ma non riuscivo a trovare il mio buon ritmo. Questo a volte mi succede quando si prova molto, come oggi, con due sessioni di due ore e mezza ciascuna. In un weekend normale di gara, le prove durano un'ora e la corsa è di circa quarantacinque minuti e riesco sempre a trovare un buon ritmo, senza un problema, oggi le sessioni sono state un po' troppo lungo per me. Ma abbiamo fatto un sacco di buon lavoro e ora non vedo l'ora di essere a Venerdì prossimo per l'inizio del weekend di gara.
