Briton Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha) set the day’s fastest lap, with a time of 2:05.664, with fellow countryman Jonathan Rea (Honda) second. Third went to Troy Corser (BMW), with another Brit - Leon Camier (Aprilia) fourth.

Happily, today was like a normal Friday - and that is a good feeling to have after Brno. This is a fantastic track. It has bags of character, is fast and flowing and there are lots of passing opportunities and I think it’s going to be great racing on Sunday. At the moment, I am still trying to find the right lines round it but, because the track is quite wide, there are many different lines to try.It’s bumpy for sure, but I don’t think any more than other tracks, but because of the high speeds, you notice it a lot more. I like bumpy tracks though and I think I’m going to have a lot of fun here. It is a very technical track and very safe, so once you have a good set-up, you can push pretty hard. At the moment, we’re getting there and really we’re not far off, just fine-tuning really. Tomorrow we’ll push harder, hopefully have a good Superpole and be in a much better position on the grid than Brno!

Sylvain - 17th, 2:07.

This is a very, very nice track and I’m going to enjoy racing here. Obviously my position today is not so good, but I have been spending the day learning the track and trying to find a good set-up for my bike. The track is very technical and because it is quite bumpy, it is important to get a good set-up. There are many changes of rhythm at this track, some slow corners, some fast and for me it is really interesting. I have to work on the first split, because that’s where I’m losing time at the moment, but I once I get that sorted out my lap times will come down. This is like a ‘home’ race for me, because I live in UK and many of my friends and fans will be coming to support me this weekend. I would like to improve my position tomorrow, get a high grid place and good results so that they will go home happy.

Entrambi i piloti del Team Suzuki Alstare Leon Haslam e Sylvain Guintoli, dopo aver trascorso la giornata ad imparare il nuovo tracciato, hanno dato l'ok al nuovo circuito di Silverstone ,ed ora sono in attesa di migliorare la loro posizione domani. Leon che ha terminato 8° è stato il più contento, ma anche Sylvain è ottimista nonostante abbia terminato solo diciassettesimo.
Il britannico Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha) ha ottenuto il giro più veloce della giornata, con un tempo di 2:05.664, secondo il connazionale Jonathan Rea (Honda). Terzo è stato Troy Corser (BMW), con un altro inglese- Leon Camier (Aprilia), quarto.

Fortunatamente oggi è stato come un normale venerdì - e questa è una bella sensazione dopo Brno. Questa è una pista fantastica. Ha carattere, è veloce e scorrevole e ci sono un sacco di opportunità per sorpassare e credo che domenica saranno grandi gare. Al momento sto cercando di trovare le traiettorie giuste, perchè la pista è abbastanza ampia, ci sono varie linee da provare.
E ' un po' sconnessa di sicuro, ma non più di altre piste, ma a causa delle alte velocità si sente di più. Mi piacciono le traiettorie anche se sono irregolari e penso che mi divertirò un sacco qui. E 'una pista molto tecnica e molto sicura, quindi una volta che hai un buon set-up, puoi spingere forte. Al momento stiamo arrivando e in realtà non siamo lontani, dobbiamo giusto terminare la messa a punto. Domani spingerò di più, sperando di fare una bella Superpole e di avere magari una posizione migliore sulla griglia di partenza rispetto a Brno!

Sylvain - 17th, 2:07.
Questo è una pista molto molto bella e godrò a correre qui. Ovviamente oggi la mia posizione non è così buona, ma ho passato la giornata ad imparare la pista ed a cercare di trovare un buon set-up per la mia moto. La pista è molto tecnica e piuttosto irregolare quindi è importante ottenere un buon set-up. Ci sono molti cambiamenti di ritmo su questa pista, alcune curve lente, alcune veloci e per me è davvero interessante. Devo lavorare sul primo split, perché è lì che in questo momento perdo tempo , poi i miei tempi sul giro scenderanno. Questo è come una 'gara di casa' per me, perché io vivo in Inghilterra e molti dei miei amici e tifosi verranno a sostenermi in questo weekend. Vorrei migliorare la mia posizione domani, partire davanti in griglia e fare buoni risultati così torneranno a casa contenti.
